Accessibility at Kova

Our commitment

Kova Technologies, Inc. wants every student, instructor and Club member to be able to learn and teach with Kova, including people who use a keyboard instead of a mouse, a screen reader, screen magnification or other assistive technology. We build accessibility into how we design and test each part of Kova, and we fix the barriers we know about on a published schedule.

Standards and conformance

Kova partially conforms to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA, which is the standard we design to. Partially conforms means most of Kova meets the standard and a few known parts do not yet; they are listed below with target dates.

Our Accessibility Conformance Report (VPAT 2.5, October 2026 release) covers WCAG 2.2 Level A and AA and the Revised Section 508 standards, criterion by criterion:

Accessibility features in Kova

Known limitations and our plan

These are the parts of Kova we know do not yet fully meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA, and when we plan to fix them. The Accessibility Conformance Report gives the detail for each one.

LimitationTarget date
When an instructor turns on copy-and-paste protection, it applies to every student, including students who dictate or use word prediction. We are adding a per-student exemption.
The browser tab title does not change while a simulation is open; adding a roster group opens a prompt and moves focus.
A few elements have low contrast: an option in the Roles block, some text in activities in the dark theme, some Lens library and Lens Pulse controls, course section fields, and borders of AI-written answer choices.
Some dense views need sideways scrolling on narrow screens or at 200% zoom (the grading detail, the Lens slide editor, Lens Pulse); the Lens comments list can shrink out of view; a notification card can cover the Send button in Agents & Workspace until it is dismissed.
Tools that AI builds live in Lens, and Conjure activities, are not yet checked for accessibility automatically before students see them.
Panels in Conjure page layouts can be moved with a pointer only by dragging (the arrow keys also move them); the checkboxes in Add from Canvas share one name.
PDFs that AI agents create are tagged but do not yet meet PDF/UA.
Kova has not yet been tested with screen readers (JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver) or by people with disabilities.
We do not yet have a dedicated accessibility contact; our support team answers accessibility questions.

Content instructors and students create

Activities, documents, images and other material that instructors and students write or upload belong to their authors, and their accessibility depends on how they are made. Kova helps: Conjure prompts for alt text, builds activities from accessible building blocks, and plays every activity in an accessible player. If something an instructor has shared is not accessible to you, tell your instructor or contact us and we will help find an alternative.

How we test

We last evaluated Kova in October 2026, across about 100 screens in the light and dark themes:

Testing with screen readers and with people with disabilities is next (see the table above), and its results may change what we report.

Feedback and help

If you run into a barrier in Kova, or need something in another format, email support@kovaedu.com. It helps to include:

We reply within 2 business days. If a barrier stops you from finishing coursework, say so and we will work with you and your instructor on an alternative.
